Slowing Down

As a human race we often pack our schedules so full of activities that we don’t have time to simply slow down and breathe.

Lately, I have been confronted with the simple task of slowing down. As a woman, I often feel the need to embrace my instincts by making food for myself and others, doing the household laundry and chores, grocery shopping etc..... All of these tasks have a place in our lives, but we must create balance.

Self care, journaling, creative projects and a daily spiritual practice are just a few ways I have found to implement my time and fulfill me. Getting your hair and nails done, taking the time to mindfully eat a proper meal and receiving a massage every now and then do not make you high maintenance. In my opinion, is actually quite self defeating to think you can acquire self confidence without practicing self care.

Yogi Bhajan says, “Love is the Experience of Selfishness within the Self.” This quote speaks to me on so many levels. Yes, our spirit can be sound with a spiritual practice, but we must also take care of the vessel in which God has given us to share the light and gift of love. People are just innately more responsive if they can see and feel that you take care of yourself in mind, body and spirit.

I encourage you today as you walk your path to take time to slow down and breathe. Listen to your body. You are not your body, but you are in your body and you only get to live this life once.

“When you feel stress in your physical body it is like a warning light in the car that is telling you something is wrong—you are out of harmony with the Cosmos. This is the time to stop what you are doing, take a pause, slow down and breathe long and deep. You will notice when you are in harmony that time seems to slow down and your ability to make choices becomes smarter; you start creating peace and synchronicities in your life.

Chanting mantra is also a wonderful way to bring yourself back to your center. Mantra means mental wave or vibration. The vibratory wave of mantra is a technology that brings your mind back into harmony with the Cosmos.

So if you are meeting blocks on your path, bring your attention back to your mind and your body. An outer block is just a reflection of an inner energetic block inside you. Dissolve your block by bringing yourself back into harmony with the Cosmos using your breath, slowing down, and chanting mantra. Often problems just disappear or easily correct themselves when you come back in harmony with the Cosmos.” @CatalystYogi

One meditation manta that I practice daily is Sa Ta Na Ma. Sit like a yogi 🧘‍♀️ to chant this powerful mantra and focus on the brow point. Try this for 11 to 31min, 40 days in a row. The beautiful thing about life is that each day we have the opportunity to begin again, live in the present and forgive the past.

May your day be filled with Peace, Light and Love.

This card invites you to consciously take a step back. Do you feel the need to accelerate a certain process? Maybe you are restless or very enthusiastic. If you always want something better, you end up blocking your natural flow. Your spiritual growth is an individual process that follows its own timing, there is no need to compare it with anything or anyone. Your ego wants things to move quicker than they do, that can force things. Nature is never in a rush and yet everything gets accomplished. Perfectly So! The growth you seek, can only find you in the here and now. Allow life to move through you, rather than trying to move life. Look at situations from a distance. When you are no longer completely identified, precious insights and answers can flow to you. Relax in that which is, without any hurry to move on. The ‘now’ is all there is. After all, like grass we do not grow any faster by pulling.
