4 years ago, Dana and I started out on an adventure that changed our lives. We didn’t know it at the time, but 26 countries and 4 years later we have made friends all over the world that will last a lifetime.

We have both completely changed our lifestyles for the better learning how to let go, move on and start over. We are healthier, happier and have fuller hearts than when we began this journey.

This journey hasn’t been easy and has definitely been filled with it’s share of hardships. At times it has broken us and shaken us to the core. We are both fighters, our story isn’t over! We have learned how to truly love one another through thick, thin, sickness, health, for richer or poor. We’ve learned to laugh together. That’s a true gift. Love isn’t a piece of paper.... love is a selfless act of acceptance.

Yogi Bhajan speaks about love, his words inspire me continually and penetrate my heart.

He said, “Man has to live in love—love which is not lust. Love where there is no possession, no slavery of another person. Love which is a giving. Love which is for the sake of love. Love which lasts forever. Love which is a total sacrifice. Love which is more than the grace of God itself. Love which gives a halo around the face of the person. Love through which one can see God in the eyes of the person. Love with which the body shines, the words become sweet, and the communication is absolutely beautiful. That love for which one sacrifices his own life to save a little bit of injury to another person. That love with which one pleasantly and peacefully takes all the pain in his heart to redeem another fellow being. That love can only flow when one knows how to tune into that universal God. The game of love means to identify ourselves as Infinity, not as an individual—that’s the difference. It’s a huge difference, you have to understand today. You cannot identify yourself as an individual. You have to become a very simple, solid, neutral, well-mannered, and loving person.Love is the experience within one’s self of one’s own selflessness; that’s why love is God."

Originally, we were only traveling for 3 months. We fell in love with the rich cultural experiences, scenic landscapes both rural and urban, endless new relationships and fantastic culinary adventures. From there we just followed our hearts returning back to countries to see friends, spending time in the US and kept on taking photos.

We use a Polaroid camera to take photos of children all over the world that sometimes have never had a photo of themselves. It’s a way for us to give back to the world.

Our photography has been noticed by a gallery in Los Angeles and we will be having a show at a time still to be determined in the future. We will be selling our prints on several different mediums including canvas, metal and wood. We hope to have them online for sale soon as well.

Currently I’m writing a blog. PeaceLoveCoconut.com/blog — This blog is written directly from my heart. Peace, Love, Coconut is inspired by the Inner Compass Cards (inspiring guidance cards). I come from a vulnerable place full of love, light and most importantly truth. I’ve learned though the years that my writing is stronger and comes easier when I speak truth with my words. I also include inspiring quotes and teachings from Yogi Bhajan — the father of Kundalini Yoga in the United States. Read the blog and enjoy getting to know me better, even get to know yourself better too.

When you surrender to love, you let your heart do what it does best: love. Your heart desires, your heart opens, your heart aches, your heart breaks and your heart heals. All these feelings are love. You deserve love! You are Love. If the past has taught you that love hurts, know that estrangement or rejection caused you pain, never love itself. It is safe to keep your heart open, open, only love has the power to heal. this card points towards a period overflowing with love, or shows that love is coming your way. one way or ano- ther, it will hit you. It could be that a new love is already at your doorstep, or that you suddenly notice love where you took it for granted before. Love can manifest in an unexpected hug or by realizing your deep connection with a loved one. Real love often shows itself in the ordinary and mundane. It does not need to be big, vivacious or perfect. It needs to be real, no matter the shape or form. There is always enough to go around, for everyone and mostly yourself. In the end, it is not a matter of being in love, but of being love. For you are pure love, even when you sometimes forget where to find it and how to act upon it. Love is a great mystery, love is always there.
