Practice
Happy Sunday! My first Sunday @hillsongla was incredible!
Christine Caine brought a life changing message to a huge crowd at the Ace Theatre from John 5: 1-17
In this passage of scripture Jesus says to a man that has been laying on his bed unable to walk for 38 years if he would like to be healed. Instead of immediately saying yes, the man came up with excuses for why he couldn’t be healed. The story ends with him picking up his mat and being healed.
Do you want to be healed from your issues or stay stuck in your issues? Do you want to be healed or do you want to “stay on the mat”? To illustrate this she literally laid on a yoga mat on stage.
“People prefer to be accepted not changed. — Don’t be defined by your issues. — Your history doesn’t define your destiny. — Grace isn’t about keeping you on the mat it’s about getting you off the mat. — The broken you can’t step into the fullness of you. — Going Back only takes you back and gets you back on your back.” Christine Caine
By the grace of God we can all move forward. This takes practice, willingness and determination. You have to be willing to change to bare the fruit of goodness in your life.
My prayer for you today is that you will get off your mat. Let go of anything in this world that is currently holding you back. Open your heart and let the spirit speak. Practice thankfulness daily and find what daily spiritual practice works for you. Don’t stay stuck in old patterns. Don’t look for people to pity you. Instead, realize you have everything you need. You already are what you seek. Practice: look up, look in, look forward, look around and look back.

Integrating new things in your life can be tricky. It takes at least forty days to get rid of a bad habit or incorporate a new pattern. Right now, is there something in your life that you want to change, remove or introduce to your daily routine? Do you want to meditate? Ease on your planning? Move away from your computer? Every integration calls for practice, practice comes from trial. Just do it! This card asks you to really put your money where your mouth is. Focus is essential here; multitasking often gets highly overrated. Do not spread yourself too thin, you are better off handling one thing well, then several things in halves. If your heart tells you have practiced enough, then you can test it. You do so by no longer putting any effort into it. As new things flow smoothly and effortlessly in your life, it means you have mastered them. This is what integration is all about.
