“Infinity cannot be measured. Reverence cannot be explained, because reverence is Infinity. Reverence has such a power that it becomes Infinity, and for you to become Infinity, you have to have self-reverence.” Yogi Bhajan
As a human race we often get caught up in the everyday stresses of this world. It is important to look within. Kundalini Yoga scientifically helps to balance your actions, reactions and habits. Kundalini, like anything else, you must practice daily to not loose the essence.
I have been a student of Kundalini for almost a year. When I’m not practicing everyday I can see the effects in my life. Kundalini keeps me balanced, focused and positive. For me, Kundalini is not a take it or leave it practice. Finding a daily routine where I can have time to implement this practice is ever so important.
While I was in Bali for two months, I had a routine. Through this routine I broke habits, wrote some of my best blogs, designed quotes and created an existence that was filled with light and positivity.
Being back in the states has its challenges. I went to visit my family for Thanksgiving which was great. I loved the time I spent with them, but by breaking my routine I broke. Yogi Bhajan says, “Keep up and you’ll be kept up.”
Nourishing the soul is important. It is essential to my personal development and life. Setting boundaries, taking time for myself each day, writing and Kundalini keep me grounded.
I discovered in Bali that I’m actually an introvert. I was shocked. I have always thought of myself as an extrovert, but after spending time alone and establishing a routine I got to know myself deeper.
Now, as I ready myself to head to California, I am heading into a season of nourishment. It’s not the place — Bali is not the answer. It’s establishing a routine and sticking to it.
How often do we have a list of “to do’s” but put them off to either hang out with other people or do something for someone else? Giving is important, don’t get me wrong. Community is essential. Balance is life giving. When you are giving of yourself, don’t forget to give to yourself.
Yogi Bhajan talks about the healing effects of Kundalini in a lecture from 1997.
He said, “God is everywhere, God is omnipresent, God is omniscient, then they say, “Go and find Him. Where? God is everywhere, you are nowhere—nowhere searching somewhere for that which is everywhere. Stop these mockeries. Simply know the truth—that your habits are controlled by the thalamus and hypothalamus. That's what Kundalini is all about.
Kundalini is medically well-explained. It's a simple science. Hypothalamus and thalamus have to be concurrent. They are not concurrent. And thalamus controls your automatic habits: habit to get up, habit to be alert, habit to be lazy, habit to be this, habit to be bad. And the frontal lobe controls your personality. And it must be an alert frontal lobe. You call it third eye, you call it fourth eye, I don't care, call anything, but the fact is, it's your frontal lobe.
You need fifteen breaths a minute; that's what you normally take. And when you are excited, emotional, drugged, sexual, sensual, excited, whatever, you go up to twenty-four. Sometimes you go to thirty-one, something like that. It's very simple mathematics. Suppose you have enough breath of life at the rate of one breath for one year, so you take one breath a minute, you can live fifteen years. Suppose you have breath of life for one hundred years. At fifteen breaths a minute, at that rate, you can live 1500 years. That's how yogis extend their life—by practicing one breath a minute. When you practice one breath a minute, then you become Pavan Guru—you become the light and knowledge of the prana, and then you know the Universe, the Universe knows you.”
My prayer for you today is that you will find your nourishing balance. Find a routine that works for you. Start a spiritual practice or continue the one you have. If you need time alone don’t feel as if you can’t speak up. The world shall eat you alive if you don’t nourish yourself. Enjoy this season of giving we are in, but don’t neglect giving to yourself. Nourish: look up, look in, look forward, look around and look back. Putting self care first will give you the energy to be the light in the world and shine bright.

💫Today’s @innercompasscards Reading💫
In this period of life, your personal development is skyrocketing. That makes it even more important to feed yourself with things that nourish you. Literally in the form of healthy food, but also in the more proverbial sense of wisdom, attention, joy, exercise, rest, etc. Laziness often makes us go for things that do not actually stimulate us, but rather make us feel depleted. Think of certain media or people that always seem to take away your energy. take the time to under- stand why you choose to feed yourself with such matters. What whole are you trying to fill? Look at it without judgement. Free yourself from the negative compensation. This card asks you to focus on things that influence you in a positive sense. What puts you in a good mood? What gives you energy and satisfaction? What are the books and people that inspire you? Right now, you are very susceptible. Take it all in, but choose wisely. Remember, what has once fed you, can never be taken away. Therefore, it is important to go for the positive instead of the negative, choose quality over quantity.
