“In me, I have found only one reality—that I breathe in and I breathe out. And so anything that breathes in or out is reality. When I found this as a reality in everybody, I found myself in everybody and everybody in myself.” - Yogi Bhajan

Mirroring is a part of everyone’s life. We see mirrors all around us in others lives. Writing keeps me grounded and healthy. If I’m not writing it’s usually a tell tale sign that something is not quite right.

Returning back to the US is always an adjustment and I tend to absorb the negative energies around me. Learning what to do with these energies has been a challenge to say the least.

No one has it all together, but not all of us fall when faced with challenges. I’m a person that thrives on routine. When my routine is broken it often takes me awhile to get settled again. I stumble and I fall. We all do in different ways.

The two months I spent in Bali were groundbreaking for me in body, mind and soul. It is somewhat of a magical place for me.

After returning to the US, I began to mirror all of the negative energies around me and I too became negative. Why you ask? That is the question I ask myself today as I write.

How do I keep the same spirit I acquired in Bali alive in me here in the US? Sometimes it’s the person and sometimes it’s the place. Unanswered questions rack my brain when the plane takes off from that magical island. Where will I live in the US? Where will I work? Can I make the most of my investments I made and the time I have here on this earth?

Absolutely! I can pick myself up. I can be positive. I can carry the light that shined within me just two short weeks ago.

I love my mate, he has put up with a ton of negative energy coming from me over the years. My parents and family are supportive. I don’t always understand everything and I tend to learn things the hard way.

Keeping my focus on the light and continuing to grow, as I was in Bali, is more important now than ever. I cannot forget my daily spiritual practice. I cannot succumb to the darkness and negativity that is ever present in the western world.

I must return to positive thinking knowing that God has me gently held in his arms. It’s a long road home, but I’ve got this. There’s no time to give up, there’s no time to be lazy and there’s no time to numb the reality of the present.

Waiting for You

by Yogi Bhajan

It’s a long way to go.

Time is moving very slow.

Stars are shining very strong.

Guiding my way, so nothing goes wrong.

You are still far away,

Like the Milky Way.

I see you in me.

You want to be.

Light in you and Light in me,

Makes me you and you as me.

We unite alright,

To fight the dark,

Like Noah’s Ark.

Long way to go,

Unknown only knows.

Light in you, Light in me,

Make us one with the One to be.

In time and space,

In the new human race,

We will shine as a guiding star,

Some very near some very far.

The long way has ended.

With One I have blended,

Waiting for you.

"We can only truly see ourselves reflected in another person. If we admire qualities in another, we are only seeing those same qualities in ourselves. These qualities may not yet be developed or expressed. On the flip side, if we see qualities that we dislike in another—again, we are only seeing ourselves—perhaps a disowned part called the shadow. The more we identify with our ego, the more judgmental we will be toward others and the more we will project our own personality traits onto others.

In the Age of Aquarius, the age of enlightenment, we are being called to take full responsibility for our experiences and to live the Truth—we are ALL ONE.” - Catalyst Yogi

My prayer for us all today is that we mirror the positive. I pray that us light-seekers continue seeking the light. We cannot not allow ourselves to succumb to the dark clouds. After all we are The Messengers of greatness. As we carry on may we: look up, look in, look forward, look around and look back. Be the light that we all seek and give the world something positive to mirror.

Your inner process is in full swing and the growth that you are experiencing has an impact on your surroundings as well. It does not matter what has once set your development in motion or what has further accelerated it - this is different for everyone. The fact that your process is happening is what matters. Both consciously and subconsciously you know how to inspire, motivate and animate the people around you. Spending time with others, you act as a mirror, the reflection comes back undistorted. Like a messenger of the universe you pass on those lessons that are appropriate for someone at that given time. The biggest truths are shared without you actually knowing it. After all, it is not about the messenger, but about the message. This principle is also applicable to those teachings you yourself receive. You are never too old to learn!
